Sublative™ Laser Resurfacing

Sublative laser resurfacing is a unique procedure which uses radiofrequency to deliver an effective but controlled heating to the lower layers of skin, reducing wrinkles, acne scars, large pores, and stubborn hyperpigmentation. Similar to “Fraxel”, it uses radiofreqeuency energy, as opposed to visible light, making it safe for all skin colors. Each pulse delivers the radiofrequency energy via a grid of matrix spots, inducing a skin injury which is maximized in these tiny, targeted areas. Fibroblasts are activated within these “zones” that signal collagen to regenerate and remodel, yielding improved skin tone and texture overall. A series of three treatments is reccommended for optimal results. Treatments are comfortable and do not require the use of numbing cream.

Am I a good candidate for this treatment?

Patients looking to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity or scarring with minimal downtime are good candidates for this procedure. You should not have Sublative resurfacing if you are pregnant or have been on Accutane within the past 6 months. In addition, patients with pacemakers, internal defibrillators, or metal implants in the area of concern should not have these treatments.

How does Sublative rejuvenation work?

Sublative rejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment that does not require injections. The laser stimulates the patient’s own collagen to remodel and restructure and does not rely on temporary substance filler.

What benefits can I expect?

Patients can expect a noticeable reduction of fine lines, wrinkles and acne scarring. In addition, patients will see an improvement in texture and skin laxity. On average, most results appear over a period of three to six months (it takes time for collagen to grow), but many patients notice results immediately after treatment.

What are the side effects from this treatment?

You will experience redness that will last for a few hours up to 24 hours (occasionally it can last longer). You may apply makeup immediately after the procedure. The skin will feel very warm after the treatment and your skin may have a rough texture that will last 2-5 days. All post-treatment care will be discussed during your visit.
